# Versioning

> How the API changes, and how to stay compatible.

Source: https://docs.delivr.no/conventions/versioning/

The API is versioned by date. The current version is **`2026-11-01`**. Every answer carries it in `Delivr-Api-Version`, and every webhook in `apiVersion` and the `Delivr-Api-Version` header.

## What can change without notice

These changes are backwards compatible and ship in the current version:

- New endpoints.
- New optional request fields.
- New response fields, and new fields in webhook `data`.
- New webhook event types.
- New values in `reason`, error `code` and other open lists.
- New options in quotes.

Build your integration to tolerate them: ignore fields and events you do not know, and treat unknown reasons and codes by their category.

## What needs a new version

Removing or renaming fields, changing types or meanings, or making optional fields required. Delivr announces such changes to integrators ahead of time.

See the [changelog](/changelog/) for every change.
